ORLANDO, Florida -- Jerome Jordan sank two free throws with 19 seconds left to lift Tulsa to a 55-50 victory over Central Florida Saturday in Orlando. Jordan finished with 10 points while Justin Hurtt had 16 and Ben Uzoh added 15 for the Golden Hurricane.
The game was closely contested all the way down to the wire. Neither team held a double-digit lead. Tulsa (17-4, 6-1) held the biggest advantage 47-40 with 9:17 left in the second half. UCF (10-11, 2-5) never held a lead in the second half.
The contest was even tighter in the first half. Neither squad could muster more than a four point lead. After several ties and lead changes, the Golden Hurricane managed to take a 29-28 advantage into the half.
Keith Clanton finished with 17 points for the Knights
With Tulsa's first win in Orlando and UAB's double-overtime loss to UTEP, all three teams are tied for first place in Conference USA.
