STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- The Cowgirls will open conference play Saturday following a 98-60 win over Sam Houston State. Andrea Riley’s 26 points and 11 assists help extend OSU’s win streak to eight games now. Freshman Lakyn Garrison had a career-high 16 points, while Tegan Cunningham scored 21 in Monday night’s game.
Sam Houston State opened the game by missing its first four shots, and the No. 23 Cowgirls (12-2) answered by going on a 15-1 run. The Bearkats allowed OSU to get off to a strong start after committing seven turnovers in the first 5 minutes of the game.
The OSU Cowgirls will host No. 5 Baylor Saturday at 2:30 p.m. to open Big 12 Conference play.
