What you need to know?
For the first time since its inception 74 years ago, the Cotton Bowl will not be played at Cotton Bowl Stadium. Instead it will take place at the new $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium.

Oklahoma State is gunning for its first 10-win season since head coach Mike Gundy was the Cowboys quarterback. Oklahoma State will have to regroup after being shutout 27-0 in its final regular season game.

Ole Miss will have to bounce back as well after the Rebels were defeated 41-27 by arch-rival Mississippi State in the final regular season game. Rebels coach Houston Nutt was a backup quarterback for the Cowboys and an assistant coach while Gundy was the starting quarterback.

This game is a rematch of the 2004 Cotton Bowl when Eli Manning led Ole Miss to a 31-28 victory over the Cowboys.

Who to watch?
It has been a long time since Oklahoma State quarterback Zac Robinson was healthy and the Cotton Bowl contest is no exception. Robinson said he has a sprained AC joint in his shoulder and is battling an ankle injury as well. If Robinson can stay upright and avoid taking too much punishment, then the Cowboys offensive attack becomes much more unpredictable.

Mississippi quarterback Jevan Snead has looked like everything from a first-round NFL draft pick to a back up for the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. Snead threw three touchdowns in the Rebels last game but also threw three interceptions. As he goes, the Ole Miss offense goes. If Snead is on, the Rebels can put up points in a hurry. If Snead is off, the Cowboys will be feasting on turnovers.
