OKLAHOMA CITY -- Nick Collison hit two free throws with 4.5 seconds left to help the Oklahoma City Thunder to an 87-86 victory over the Utah Jazz. Collison came away with the ball after Kevin Durant missed a jumper from the right wing, and was fouled by Paul Millsap in the process. Utah’s Ronnie Prince missed a 21-footer as time expired.
Durant scored 31 points marking the sixth consecutive game he has scored 30 or more. That matches the franchise record set by Spencer Haywood in 1972. Collison had 11 points while Russell Westbrook added eight points to go along with 10 assists.
Despite the Thunder committing 19 turnovers, the game was close throughout. The Thunder had the largest lead of the game at 70-62 after Eric Maynor stole the ball from Memhet Okur and sprinted down the floor for a layup early in the fourth quarter.
Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 17 points while Wesley Mathews and Deron Williams finished with 14 each.
Oklahoma City is on a five-game winning streak, its longest streak in four years. The win put the Thunder even with Utah in the Western Conference at 18-14.
