DALLAS -- Oklahoma Sports has confirmed that Russell Okung sustained a knee injury during practice Tuesday. It is not a severe injury and the Cowboys do expect him to play against Ole Miss Saturday.
Okung was absent from last night's team dinner, and at least one source is reporting that a knee injury could be the cause. Mike Gundy chose not to comment on Okung's health Wednesday, consistent with his policy of not talking about injuries throughout the season.
Beyond the matchup with Ole Miss, Okung is expected to be a top pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, so his pro prospects will have to be taken into consideration when he and the coaching staff make a decision about whether or not to play against the Rebels.
