NORMAN, Oklahoma – Oklahoma Sports’s Toby Rowland has learned that wide receiver Ryan Broyles has decided to return to Oklahoma next season.
Broyles is a sophomore, but because he redshirted he is still eligible to declare for the NFL Draft. Just like cornerback Dominique Franks, Broyles submitted paperwork to the NFL to gauge where he would be drafted, but regardless of the response chose to return to OU.
Broyles led the Sooners with 964 yards and 12 touchdowns despite missing one game and the majority of another with a fractured shoulder blade. His 76 catches are also only seven shy of Mark Clayton’s single-season school record.
Broyles was the brightest spot in a passing attack that struggled to maintain consistency this season. No other OU receiver had more than 30 catches, 450 yards or four touchdowns.
