STILLWATER, Oklahoma – In their first home game since Nov. 15, the Oklahoma women’s basketball team cruised to an 80-51 win over Coppin State.
The Cowgirls, who improved to 5-2 on the year, had four players reach double figures. Tegan Cunningham scored a game-high 19 points, Andrea Riley added 18, Precious Robinson chipped in 17, and Toni Young had 12.
OSU actually trailed 13-8 with 13 minutes remaining in the first half, but went on a 24-2 run over the next 10 minutes and never looked back.
"We didn't get off to a great start and I think that they thought we could just show up and win the ball game," head coach Kurt Budke said. "If we learned that tonight in the pre-conference schedule, then it was absolutely worth it.
Defensively, the Cowgirls held the Eagles to 37 percent shooting, including zero percent from three-point land.
Shante Cummings led CSU with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Cowgirls return to the floor on Dec. 13 when they travel to Vermont for their final road trip of the non-conference schedule.
