IRIVING, Texas -- University of Tulsa quarterback G.J. Kinne was one of 11 players named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team for Football, as selected by the league’s sports information directors.
The all-academic team consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a starter or key reserve on their team.
Kinne, a sophomore from Mesquite, Texas, has maintained a 3.33 grade point average in exercise sports science.
In 12 games this season, Kinne completed 61 percent of his passes for 2,732 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was also Tulsa’s leading rusher with 393 yards and five TD’s. Kinne had three 300-plus passing games on the year and became the first player in school history to pass for over 300 yards and rush for 100 yards in a single game.
