NORMAN, Oklahoma – OU center and backup tight end Brody Eldridge fractured a bone in his pinky Wednesday, but will still be available to play Saturday against Idaho State.
A source inside the OU program confirmed Eldridge’s injury, but said it should not limit his ability to snap at center or to block and catch at tight end.
“It’s minor. No impact and he will play and snap just fine.”
Eldridge played tight end the last three seasons, but switched to center in the offseason. His injury is just the latest to plague both of those positions.
Starting tight end Jermaine Gresham underwent season-ending surgery Tuesday, while center Ben Habern missed significant time during the spring with a back injury and is still not 100 percent healthy.
