Tulsa Crossing Guard Receives Top Honors

TULSA, Oklahoma -- AAA honored a Green Country man Tuesday for making the walk to school a little safer for students.

Carl Strauhs is a crossing guard at Salk Elementary School in Tulsa. AAA named him Crossing Guard of the Year for our area.

"I think of them as my own children. Thats the way I treat each and every one of them, as if they're my own," he said.

Carl has been a crossing guard for four years. He said the honor was a big surprise and one that he'll always cherish.
