Bartlett said the move will allow the city to save money.

The Public Works department currently has 1,400 employees.

Under his original plan to restructure the department, Bartlett said about 125 employees will move to other departments while many would be divided among the new departments.  He said few employees, if any, would need to be cut.

There's no word on how the new plan will affect those employees.
