Tulsa Police Arrest Suspect In 'Construction Worker' Bank Robbery

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police have arrested a suspect in Thursday's robbery of a west Tulsa bank. Lester Bertis Vann Jr., age 50, was booked into the David L. Moss Correctional Facility on a felony charge of robbery by force or fear.

Police say Vann robbed the ONB Bank located at 2420 Southwest Boulevard at about 5 p.m. May 5, 2011, dressed in a hard hat, green reflective construction jacket and gloves.

Police got a phone tip leading them to Bert Vann after surveillance photos from the bank were circulated to the media.

Detectives found Vann at the Royal Inn at 2222 West Skelly Drive where they watched him leave his room to get a green reflective construction jacket out of his pickup truck, according to the arrest report.

They obtained a search warrant for his room and arrested him late Friday afternoon.

"Clothing matching the suspect described clothing was found inside the room," the report states.
