Pawnee Doctor Sentenced To Federal Prison For Tax Evasion

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Pawnee doctor was sentenced to 2 years in federal prison Friday after pleading guilty to tax evasion back in January.

Federal authorities said William Edward Clymer, 58, filed false tax returns in 2003. Authorities further allege Dr. Clymer failed to comply with his tax obligation for over a decade.

"This sentence reflects the seriousness of tax evasion and consequence of maintaining frivolous tax protestor positions that have no basis in fact of law," said U.S. Attorney Scott Woodward.

Dr. Clymer will be on three years of supervised probation after his release from prison.
