WAGONER COUNTY, Oklahoma --A 7-year-old Wagoner girl died of a head injury she received in an ATV accident at 5:22 p.m. Saturday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The accident took place on a private drive at North 30th Street about eight miles south of Wagoner in Wagoner County.
Trooper David Medlin said the 7-year-old Sadie Wilson was a passenger on a 2001 Arctic Cat ATV driven by an 11-year-old Wagoner girl.
The vehicle struck a retaining wall causing the vehicle to flip over the structure and eject all three occupants.
The ATV landed on Wilson. A witness on the scene was able to free her, but she was pronounced dead at the Muskogee Regional Medical Center.
The driver and another passenger, a 7-year-old Wagoner girl, were not injured.
Trooper Medlin said the cause of the collision is still under investigation, and the condition of the driver at the time of the accident is listed as apparently normal. None of the girls was wearing a helmet, the report states.
