CLAREMORE, Oklahoma -- A backlog at the state medical examiner's office could get even worse as the department terminated two employees on Tuesday.
"We didn't lay off two people, they were terminated. Beyond that, it's a personnel matter," said spokesperson Cherokee Ballard.
Tulsa investigators will have to pick up the slack. The ME's office is currently about a thousand cases behind.
