TULSA, Oklahoma -- OSU-Tulsa launched a new center Wednesday aimed at improving the quality of life for area families.
The university created the Center for Family Resilience with the help of a $150,000 gift from the George Kaiser Family Foundation. The center will partner with OSU researchers, local social service agencies, and other businesses to tackle family related problems.
"The Center for Resilience is to understand what is it that all of us, 100 percent guarantee will face issues that overwhelm us in our life: a death, a divorce, losing a job, they happen in everyone's life," Steven Wilson, said. "What makes you resilient is the set of resources that connect you socially; that's what we're looking for."
The center's focus on children and families inspired the gift.
