Get Reacquainted With Collies At Tulsa Expo Center

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Do you remember Lassie? No? That probably explains why collies are not as popular as they once were. Its all the more reason to head on over to the QuikTrip Center to get reacquainted.

The Lassie TV series ran for almost 20 years. During that time collies were popular sought after dogs… not so much since.

"I think if they had another movie about a collie now you would have people looking for collie puppies again," said Anne Cross.

Anne Cross is here with the Collie Club of America show.

"It's like the super bowl of collie shows," she said.

The show of course is all about collies, there are collie books, collie art, and collie memorabilia.....even the prizes look like collies. But some of the collies didn't look like what I expected collies to look like.

Some are short haired - called a smooth coat collie. Another had a merle, or speckled coat.

You've heard the old saying let sleeping dogs lie; we didn't.

The National Collie Show continues through Saturday in the QuikTrip Center at Expo Square.
