TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Police are investigating a shooting Monday that sent one man to the hospital and another man to jail.
Police said two men went to a home on North Maplewood Monday morning to borrow a truck. When the owner said no, officers say one of the men pulled a gun and started shooting.
But, instead of hitting the truck's owner, police say he ended up hitting his friend. The friend drove himself to the hospital. He is expected to be okay. His name has not been released.
Shortly after the shooting, officers spotted the gunman's vehicle in the 400 block of East Marshal Place. As he was attempting to pull it over, a person inside the vehicle jumped out and ran inside a nearby home.
Officers set up a perimeter around the home. The man came outside a short time later, where he was taken into custody.
"Anytime somebody gets shot it always throws a lot of adrenaline in the mix," Captain Steve Odom said. "People get excited and they don't always tell us exactly what happened."
The suspect's name has not been released.
