Stillwater Man Accused Of Burning Baby With Hair Dryer

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- A 20-year-old Stillwater man has been charged with felony child abuse for allegedly burning his 3-month-old son with a hair dryer.

Maurice Wilson was arrested Wednesday and charged Thursday in Payne County District Court. He's being held in the Payne County Jail on $100,000 bond.

Court records do not list an attorney for him.

District Attorney Tom Lee wrote in the charging document that the baby suffered third-degree burns to his face, ears and body and has about two dozen blisters on his body.

Investigators told a Stillwater newspaper that Wilson had bathed the baby then used the hair dryer to dry him.

The infant is now hospitalized in Tulsa.
