TULSA, Oklahoma -- A group of Tulsans is organizing a rally against anti-immigration bills being considered at the State Capitol.
The Coalition for the American Dream announced the rally at a news conference in Tulsa Thursday.
"This will be a peaceful gathering of Oklahomans from all walks of life, united as one," Marvin Lizama, Coalition President, said.
They say lawmakers are jeopardizing our economy by going beyond Arizona's new law which they say has cost the state millions because of mass boycotts, not to mention getting sued by the Federal Government.
"We are calling on all progressive Oklahomans to join thousands of us as we stand united, under one voice and rally against Oklahoma specific immigration laws that are bad for business, bad for the economy and bad for Oklahoma," Lizama said.
The rally is next Saturday April 16, 2011, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City.
