TULSA, Oklahoma -- In the midst of an historic overhaul, Tulsa Public Schools is urging parents of pre-kindergarten students and kindergartner students to plan now for this fall.

Enrollment got underway Tuesday and continues Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Parents who enrolling their pre-kindergarten child should pre-enroll them at their neighborhood school, or at the school they'd like their child to attend. Kindergartners who are new to the district must pre-enroll at their neighborhood school.

The district needs to know how many new students they will have so they can choose the best Project Schoolhouse proposal.

"We just want optimum learning opportunities, so best facilities, best programs, the best place for them to learn, and we're going to figure out what that is," Kayla Robinson, Marshall Elementary Principal, said.

Only the parent or legal guardian can pre-enroll a student.

According to Tulsa Public Schools, the following are needed in order to pre-enroll:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Up to date immunizations record
  • Current proof of address; gas, electric or water bill
  • Social Security
  • CDIB Card

For more information on pre-enrollment, check out the Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up.
