TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police are investigating how the body of a man ended up in an empty lot in the 2000 block of North Quaker.

Shortly after 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, police got a call about a body lying about 30 feet from the street.

When Tulsa Police arrived, they began securing the field.  They told News On 6 the man appeared to be dead from a gunshot wound.

Police say they answered a call about shots fired in the area around 3:30 a.m. but officers didn't find anything at that time.

Police identified the man as 19-year-old Kendrich Shelton.

Officers said Shelton had the initials "KS" tattooed on the inside of his right wrist. He was also wearing several rings on his fingers.

Police say they don't know if this incident is related to a shooting four blocks north late Monday night that left one man dead.
