TULSA, Oklahoma -- The IRS is giving special attention to taxpayers as the April 18 deadline approaches.
The agency held an open house Saturday to help answer some last minute questions.
So far, only half of the 140 million tax returns the IRS is expecting have been filed. If you haven't filed yet, you may qualify for free tax assistance from the IRS.
"Most of our focus is on return prep. We have a lot of people who meet our criteria for free filing with us, so we are doing a lot of walk-in tax returns," said Virginia Volyles, Taxpayer Assistance Center.
The IRS said the average family is getting two percent more back this year, compared to last year.
