Mayor Taking Part In 'Bracket Battle' Ahead Of Tulsa's NCAA Games

TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett and Ray Hoyt of the Tulsa Sports Commission made their bracket selections Monday for the upcoming NCAA basketball tournament.

The second and third rounds of the tournament will be played at the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa on this Friday, March 18, 2011, and Sunday, March 20, 2011.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett has Kansas, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, and Connecticut making it to the final four, with KU winning the National Championship.

Following the news conference, the Mayor, along Tulsa business owners, representatives from the City of Tulsa, BOK Center, and University of Tulsa boarded a shuttle to preview the routes that will be offered to fans during the tournament.

The shuttle will run through downtown and the Cherry Street and Brookside area beginning this Friday, March 18, and running through Sunday.

The lineup for games at the BOK Center is as followed:

West Regional

  • #4 Texas (27-7) vs. #13 Oakland (25-9), 11:15 am; Televised on CBS
  • #5 Arizona (27-7) vs. #12 Memphis (25-9); 30 minutes following on CBS

Southwest Regional

  • #1 Kansas (32-2) vs. #16 Boston University (21-13), 5:50 pm; Televised on TBS 
  • #8 UNLV (24-8) vs. #9 Illinois(19-13); 30 minutes following on TBS
