TULSA, Oklahoma -- Several area fire agencies battled a large grass fire that scorched hundreds of acres in West Tulsa Monday night.
The fire was burning just west of the Towne West shopping complex around 51st and 49th W. Avenue.
Several structures were threatened, including an elementary school, but fire crews were able to keep the flames contained.
Flames also came close to a parked freight train which appeared to be hauling chemical tankers.
From the air, SkyNews6 captured several fire lines glowing in the dark as firefighters worked to beat back the 10-foot high flames.
There were multiple fire agencies on scene, including Oakhurst and Sapulpa.
