TULSA, Oklahoma -- By the time Tulsa firefighters arrived at a car fire in the 9000 block of 56th Street North early Monday morning, the car was already fully involved and flames were spreading to nearby grass and brush.

Fearful of a quickly spreading brush fire, firefighters let the car burn and concentrated first on putting out the grass and brush fire.

Once it was under control, firefighters extinguished the burning car which was located about a quarter mile west of Mingo.

Firefighters say it appears the car had been stolen and had been set on fire.
