BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- The City of Broken Arrow has announced it's named a new fire chief.
According to a news release Thursday afternoon, the City selected Jeff VanDolah after an extensive search.
VanDolah most recently served as assistant fire marshal for the Tulsa Fire Department.
"I am a long-time resident of Broken Arrow, and I love this community. I am thrilled to be able to finish my career in a city I care so much about," VanDolah said.
"I am also excited about leading this department. We have many great things ahead of us, and I am happy to be a part of it."
VanDough began his career in 1984 with the Broken Arrow Fire Department.
The release says VanDolah's job responsibilities during his career have included all aspects of fire operations, emergency medical services and arson investigations.
He will assume leadership of the department April 4, 2011, taking over from interim chief Steve Jarrett.
Jarrett has been interim fire chief since 2009, when Chief Jackie Carner was dismissed.
