Coweta Man Found Shot To Death In Barn

COWETA, Oklahoma -- Authorities are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead near Coweta Friday night.

According to the OSBI, 53-year-old Arthur Burney was found dead with a gunshot wound around 8:30 p.m.

Investigators say Burney's wife called 911 after she discovered the body in a barn that sits 50 yards from their house. The home is located in the 16000 block of S. 233 E Avenue.

An autopsy confirms the victim died of a gunshot wound, but authorities are not releasing where the shot was located on the body.
