TULSA, Oklahoma -- Former Gannett employees say the company is pulling out of Tulsa.
Gannett, an international media company, announced its mid-town call center in 2007 and promised to provide 500 jobs.
Now, a company blog has posted a memo, saying Gannett is closing its Tulsa office. The memo says work done in Tulsa will be split up between sites in Phoenix, Detroit, Louisville, and Greenville, South Carolina.
The memo also encourages the 150 Tulsa employees to apply for other open positions within the company.
According to the memo, Gannett's closure is effective March 31, 2011.
