Well that was one wild 10 day runs with Oklahoma weather! Record snow of 27" @ Spavinaw and a record state low of -31 in Nowata. -31…that is just amazing and I don't know if you did any crazy experiments with the kids while it was that cold but just throwing a glass of water in the air was enough to make snow and sleet! Hopefully these records will stand for a long time. Nobody really wants to revisit this anytime soon but we still have a couple of chances of more snow before the season is over so keep that in the back of your mind!
Several of our staff had a tough week as well. Broken/frozen water pipes, getting stuck and having their barn roof cave in (me). It was tough and I'm thinking there that just about everybody was affected by the storms and bitter cold air. At least I had time to enjoy quite a few hours of sledding with my family…that just doesn't happen very often here in Oklahoma. So I'll take that as a good memory and hopefully my kids will remember that their whole lifetime as well. Hopefully you had the same experience with your family…if not here's hoping the next go around is good for your family and you!
Big storms can make big memories…some good…some bad but hopefully we are done the really bad stuff.
Here's to no more winter blasts this year!
