Ottawa County Father Arrested In Baby Son's Death

OTTAWA COUNTY – An Ottawa County father is behind bars in connection with the death of his one-year-old son.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said D.J. Yates was arrested Thursday for first degree murder in the death of his son, Quinton Yates.

The OSBI said Quinton's mother called 911 Thursday afternoon from her home near Miami. The boy was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner's office will determine an exact cause of death.

D.J. Yates is being held in the Ottawa County Jail.
