TULSA, Oklahoma -- The big dig out of this winter mess continues and area agencies are pooling their resources to get everything cleaned up.

They're putting together a plan similar to what was used during the 2007 ice storm.

When winter events like this hit the city and surrounding areas, there are a lot of different groups working to get life back to normal.

From clearing the roads to helping the elderly to responding to medical emergency, crews are busy across Tulsa County.

Now, a task force has been formed to help coordinate all of that work.

Tulsa Police, Tulsa Fire, the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, Metro Transit, and a number of other agencies are working out of the city's Emergency Operations Center.

They've been talking since the storm hit but the task force puts them all in the same room together. They'll be able to evaluate resources and determine whether more help from the state is needed.

"I call it the toy box mentality, here's what we have in the toy box and here's how fast we're burning through those toys and we make a projection of here's how long it's going to take us to get to the end of this," said Tulsa Police Captain Brett Bailey.

The task force was formed after the ice storm in 2007; officials say it will give them a better idea of what's needed on the heels of next week's snow storm
