TULSA, Oklahoma -- Two people were critically injured in a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 11 just east of Harvard at about 5 a.m. Sunday. Tulsa Police Officer Gerard Schrader said the car was traveling westbound on Highway 11 when the driver veered off to the left and struck a vehicle that had been abandoned on the highway.

The abandoned car was moved 200 feet from the impact.

The male driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and his head hit the car's windshield, Schrader said. The female passenger was also critically injured. Both were taken to local hospitals.

Schrader said the man and woman were unable to give much information about the wreck. The officer said the accident victims were in their early 20s and possibly Hispanic.

Police are investigating the cause.
