TULSA, Oklahoma -- Work is underway on the latest project to widen I-44 in Tulsa.
The interstate will go from four to six lanes between 41st street to the Broken Arrow Expressway.

The Oklahoma of Transportation is also moving the I-44 off-ramp to 41st street to help ease congestion.
"It will take traffic along a route up to near Hudson Avenue on 41st," Kenna Mitchell, an ODOT spokesperson, said. "So it's an entirely different location than what drivers are used to as far as that exit ramp, but it'll be a major improvement for their safety."
The $12 million project will take a year to finish.
