Kevin Swindell Wins Chili Bowl; Broken Arrow Racer Finishes Fourth

Kevin Swindell became the first back-to-back Chili Bowl champion Saturday night - finishing just ahead of his father Sammy.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Kevin Swindell became the first back-to-back winner after securing the 2011 Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals title Saturday night.

The racer had to hold off a late charge from his father and five-time Chili Bowl champ Sammy Swindell on the final lap to get the victory. Sammy Swindell finished in second place.

Jonathan Beason of Broken Arrow was the top local finisher, taking fourth place.

Results: Kevin Swindell, (Germantown, Tennessee) first; Sammy Swindell, (Germantown, Tennessee) second; Michael Pickens, (Auckland, New Zealand) third; Jonathan Beason, (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma), fourth, and Bryan Clauson, (Noblesville, Indiana) fifth.
