TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa homeowner opened fire late Thursday evening on a man he said had broken into his home, leaving the man in critical condition.

Tulsa Police received a call at about 10:40 p.m. about an intruder in a home in the 9100 block of South Lakewood.

When officers arrived they found 51-year-old Fred Willis, who had been shot in the upper torso and legs by the homeowner, just outside a bedroom in the home.

Willis was taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital.

The homeowner, Ronald Dobbs, told officers Willis had reportedly made previous threats toward Dobbs.

Police say Willis kicked in the back door of the home and then forced open the bedroom door when he was shot.

Dobbs' 9-year-old son and Dobbs' girlfriend were also in the home at the time of the incident.

Police questioned Dobbs, but made no arrests.
