TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa woman was robbed when she tried to give an apparent homeless person some money Thursday afternoon.

Tulsa police said the victim had stopped to give money to two men standing at the intersection of 5100 S. Union. The men were holding signs with a message – "something to the effect that they would work for food/needed help," said Officer Jason Willingham of the Tulsa Police Department.

One of the men, described as a white male from 40 to 50 years old with red hair and a beard, held the woman up with a handgun and demanded money and her purse.

The man took the woman's purse then hit her on the forehead.

The woman left the area and called the police.

If you can help Tulsa Police solve this crime, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
