SAND SPRINGS -- A new 7,000-square foot skate park is now open in Sand Springs. The $125,000 park finished on time and on budget - right before kids are out of school for Christmas break.
The park is only the third custom concrete skate park in the Tulsa metro area. It will be open every day, from dawn until dusk.
The skatepark features stairs, hubba ledge, gap, multiple banks, quarter pipes, hip, grinding rails and bridges with artistic shapes. The colors closely match the Case Community Center nearby.

Skaters are strongly encouraged to wear protective equipment when using the skatepark. Surveillance cameras will be installed to help monitor the site.
A formal dedication ceremony and "skate-jam" event is planned for next spring.
