TULSA, Oklahoma -- An exit ramp off I-244 westbound to U.S. Highway 75 in downtown Tulsa is closed because of a tractor trailer wreck.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the semi was traveling too fast on the exit ramp which caused the trailer to roll onto its side.  It was loaded with 52,000 pounds of fertilizer, most of which spilled onto the ramp and nearby road.

The wreck happened just after noon Thursday.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation closed the westbound I-244 off-ramp to northbound U.S. 75 and northbound U.S. 75 on-ramp from 1st Street while crews cleaned up the mess.

The OHP said westbound I-244 off-ramp to northbound U.S. 75 was reopened about 4 p.m.  The northbound U.S. 75 on-ramp from 1st Street was reopened about 8 p.m.

Troopers say the driver of the semi was not injured.
