ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Authorities say a couple escaped serious injuries when their small airplane crashed in a wooded area near the Claremore airport Friday evening.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the plane burst into flames after the couple escaped.
"When we got here, it was fully engulfed, one wing was fully engulfed. You always look at the worst, but they really come out of it good this time," said Bob Anderson, fire chief.
Crews were able to get the fire under control.
The woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution. She is expected to be okay.
Investigators don't know what caused the plane to go down. The FAA is investigating.
