UNDATED – Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley will maintain his current role under Oklahoma Governor-elect Mary Fallin, her office said Monday.

Ridley will also retain his role as Director of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and director of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, Fallin's office said.

"Gary has been serving Oklahoma's transportation needs for over four decades," said Fallin. "I've worked with him as a state representative, as lieutenant governor and as a United States Congresswoman on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and I can attest to Gary's unparalleled expertise and dedication. I'm glad to have him on my team."

Ridley was appointed Secretary of Transportation in 2009 by outgoing Governor Brad Henry. During his time, improvements have been made to many of Oklahoma's bad bridges. Crews have also installed safety features, such as cable barriers, on many Oklahoma highways.
