WASHINGTON COUNTY, -- A Bartlesville woman was charged Monday with misdemeanor assault and battery for allegedly twisting the arm of an 11-year-old girl who was protecting a wheelchair-bound neighbor.

Washington County authorities said the incident happened on October 3, 2010.

According to the affidavit, the victim told Bartlesville Police she was visiting a neighbor, identified as Jocelyn Piety, when Melissa Mae Green showed up and started acting "belligerent" and "out of control." The girl told police Green acted as if she was "going to attack" Piety.

The victim said she stepped in between the two women and put her hands up, according to the affidavit. She said that's when Green "grabbed her right arm and squeezed really hard and then twisted her right arm."

The affidavit stated a witness told police she saw Green "acting out of control" and "attempt to attack" Piety.

According to the affidavit, Piety told police that Green was "jealous of her because of a man." Piety said got in her vehicle and left after several witnesses pulled her away, according to the affidavit.
