TULSA, Oklahoma -- Members of the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force arrested two fugitives out of Kansas in a Tulsa apartment in the 1100 block of South College Thursday evening.

U.S. Marshals in Wichita notified Tulsa Police that two armed fugitives, John Mack Brown and Alonzo Kinnard may be in Tulsa.

A search turned up the pair at the apartment.  NOVCTF officers arrested both suspects after a brief standoff and struggle.

Officials say Brown and Kinnard were recently involved in several violent incidents including attempted murder and aggravated kidnapping in Independence, Kansas.

They add that Brown was Kinnard's accomplice and was wanted out of Chicago for parole violations.

Both were booked into the Tulsa County jail on charges of being fugitives from justice.

Officials say both men posed a serious threat to law enforcement.
