Okmulgee County Volunteer Firefighter Confesses To Starting Fire

A member of an Okmulgee volunteer fire department has confessed to starting a structure fire early Friday morning.

HOFFMAN, Oklahoma -- A member of an Okmulgee County volunteer fire department has confessed to starting a structure fire early Friday morning. 

The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office says it was notified about a fire at 25105 School Boulevard in Hoffman at 6:30 a.m.

A sheriff's deputy investigated and says a member of the Hoffman Volunteer Fire Department confessed to intentionally starting the fire.   

Hoffman is located northeast of Henryetta.

The sheriff's office says the investigation is continuing and Hoffman Volunteer Fire Department officials have been advised. 

The name of the firefighter has not been released, but the sheriff's office said he is a captain in the department.
