TULSA, Oklahoma -- An Alabama man is in the Tulsa County jail charged with the sexual assault of 14-year-old Missouri girl he met online.
Christopher Virden, 25, is accused of traveling from Theodore, Alabama to McDonald County, Missouri where he picked up the girl and took her to a Tulsa motel.
Virden was arrested by Broken Arrow Police on Monday at a home in the 1600 block of Poplar Avenue.
He is being held in jail on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child out of Missouri and a second degree rape charge stemming from the Tulsa incident.
The teenager was picked up by Tulsa Police, who returned her to her parents.
A court hearing on the rape charge is set for November 18, 2010.
Alabama court records show Virden had been charge in April 2007 with second degree rape, again with a 14-year-old girl. That charge was later dismissed.
