Grass Fire Breaks Out Near Sapulpa

NEAR SAPULPA, Oklahoma -- Emergency crews responded to a grass fire in the Sapulpa area Friday afternoon.

A volunteer firefighter from the Oakhurst Fire Department told the News On 6 Sapulpa firefighters were working to get the fire under control.  The Kellyville Fire Department was also on scene.

Two grass fires burned parts of Osage and Washington Counties on Thursday.  One fire started near 53rd Street North and Highway 97; the other broke out near Vera.

News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot said Oklahoma remains under "enhanced fire danger" due to lack of rainfall.
