Vian Coach Convicted Of Giving Steroids To High School Football Players

A jury found Vian resident Bobby Brown, 28, of distributing anabolic steroids to members of the Vian High School football team.

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- A Vian man was sentenced to prison for providing anabolic steroids to Vian High School football players. Bobby Brown, 38, received a two-year prison sentenced after being found guilty on two counts of a three-count federal indictment, according to Mark F. Green, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Brown was an assistant coach for the team.

He was charged with giving steroids to two people under age 21 and others from about March, 2006 to June, 2008.

Brown was found guilty of distributing steroids and distributing steroids to persons under 21. The jury did not return a guilty plea on the charge of distributing the drug near a school.
