TULSA, Oklahoma -- Clark Elementary in Tulsa's Union Public Schools District launched its "Walking Bus" this week.
It's for students who live too close to school to get to ride a school bus, but still have quite a ways to walk.
Parents and volunteers walk the kids to school and then escort them home at the end of the day.
"We have lots of kids who have to walk to and from school and this is a way for them to walk together with adults and just have a little more fun and be safe and be a little more encouraged on bad weather days to come to school and be here on time," said Harriett Patterson.
The walking bus will pick up kids from four years old to fifth grade students who live within a quarter of a mile from the school.
