TULSA, Oklahoma -- It took tire deflators to stop a man who led Tulsa Police on a lengthy but slow chase on Peoria early Wednesday morning.

It began just after 2 a.m. in the 3600 block of South Peoria when police officers attempted to stop the driver of an SUV for driving erratically.

The SUV continued north for about eight miles at speeds often below 20 miles per hour.

At Pine and Peoria, police placed tire deflators across the street.  They punctured three tires on the SUV but that didn't stop the driver, who continued north.

At 51st Place and Peoria, the driver pulled into the driveway of his home, where he was promptly arrested.

The man was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of DUI and eluding police.
