SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- A Sand Springs teenager is dead, two others in critical condition after a car crash Sunday.
It happened at the intersection of 161st West and 61st Street South in Creek County just before 4 p.m.
According to an OHP accident report, 16-year-old Dani Mckayla Johns was driving a 2001 Mercury Cougar eastbound on 61st Street South with 3 teenaged passengers when she failed to yield from a stop sign. The OHP says a 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup hit the Cougar on the passenger side.
A passenger in the Cougar, 15-year-old Hannah Christian, was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Two other passengers, a 14-year-old and 15-year-old, were transported in critical condition. Johns, the driver, was treated for minor injuries.
The 20-year-old man driving the truck refused treatment.
OHP troopers say none of the four teens in the Mercury Cougar was wearing a seatbelt.
